How we get paid

OpenBrooks is a discovery platform. We help people explore insurance categories and find providers that serve their state.

OpenBrooks is not an insurance carrier, agency or broker. We do not sell insurance, bind coverage, or give advice about which policy you should buy.

Some providers listed on OpenBrooks compensate us when you visit their site or submit a request. Compensation may affect which partners appear and where they appear. Placement is not an independent ranking, an endorsement, or a statement that a provider is the best option for you.

Availability, pricing, underwriting and consumer protections are set by each provider and regulated at the state level. Always confirm details directly with the provider and your state insurance department.

United States advertising law requires that a material connection between a publisher and the businesses it recommends be disclosed clearly and conspicuously — the Federal Trade Commission’s Endorsement Guides, 16 CFR Part 255. This page is that disclosure, and the same statement appears in the footer of every page and next to every compensated listing. OpenBrooks is operated by OpenBrooks Media, LLC.

We are paid in one of two ways: a fixed amount when you click through to a partner, or a fixed amount when you complete a request on the partner’s own site. We are never paid a share of your premium, we are not paid more for one product than another within a category, and we are never paid by you. Using this site costs you nothing and does not change the price you are quoted.

We do not sell your information, and we do not operate as a lead broker — we send you to the provider, not your details to a buyer. What happens to anything you type on their site is covered by their privacy policy and by ours.

It does not buy a claim about quality, price, service or suitability. We do not publish ratings, scores or “best of” lists, precisely so that placement cannot be dressed up as an assessment.

It does not change the educational content on this site. What a category covers and what is worth asking about it are written independently of any commercial arrangement.

It does not buy the removal of a competitor, and it does not buy silence about anything a provider does. Listings can be withdrawn by us at any time.

Links to providers carry tracking parameters that identify the placement they came from — which page, which state, which category. They do not carry anything about you. Outbound partner links are marked rel="sponsored".

OpenBrooks Media, LLC is not an insurance carrier, agency or broker, and holds no producer licence in any state. We cannot quote, bind, amend or cancel a policy, and we cannot handle a claim. Everything of that kind happens between you and a licensed provider.
