Terms
Terms of use
These terms cover your use of OpenBrooks. They are deliberately short, because the service is deliberately narrow.

Who we are, and what accepting these terms means
OpenBrooks is operated by OpenBrooks Media, LLC, a company formed in Delaware (“we”, “us”). Its registered address for notice is 1 Example Street, Suite 100, Wilmington, DE 19801, United States.
By using this site you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, do not use the site. They apply alongside our privacy policy and affiliate disclosure, both of which form part of this agreement.
Who may use it
You must be at least 18 and able to enter a binding contract. The site is aimed at people in the United States and describes insurance regulated by United States states. It is not offered to anyone barred from using it under applicable law.
What this service is
OpenBrooks is an information and discovery service. It is not an insurance carrier, agency or broker, it does not sell insurance, it cannot bind coverage, and it does not act as your agent. We are not licensed as an insurance producer in any state, and nothing here is a solicitation to buy a specific policy.
No relationship of agency, partnership, employment or fiduciary duty is created between you and us by your use of this site.
No advice
Everything on this site is general information about how categories of insurance are structured. It is not legal, financial or insurance advice, and it is not a recommendation that any particular policy or provider is suitable for you. Decisions about coverage should be made with the provider, and where relevant with a licensed professional.
No quotes, rates or required limits
We do not publish premiums, quotes, statutory minimums or required limits. Those are set by carriers and by state law, they change, and a confident stale number is worse than none. Any figure you see anywhere should be confirmed at its source before you rely on it.
Accuracy and change
Insurance regulation, provider availability and product terms change constantly. We work to keep this site accurate but do not warrant that it is complete or current. Where this site and a state insurance department disagree, the department governs.
We may change, suspend or withdraw any part of the site at any time without notice.
Third-party providers and links
Providers listed here are independent businesses. We do not control them, do not guarantee their services, and are not party to any agreement you enter into with them. Outbound links are provided for convenience and are not an endorsement. Once you follow one, that site’s own terms and privacy policy govern.
Some listings are compensated. See the affiliate disclosure for exactly what that does and does not mean.
Our content
The text, design, data compilations, code and marks on this site belong to OpenBrooks Media, LLC or its licensors and are protected by copyright and trademark law. You may read, print and share pages for your own non-commercial use. Provider names and logos belong to their respective owners and are used to identify those businesses.
Acceptable use
Do not scrape, republish or resell the content of this site, attempt to interfere with its operation, or use it to send unsolicited commercial messages to listed providers. Do not use automated systems to access the site in a way that degrades it for other people, and do not attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of it.
We may block access from any source that breaches this section.
Disclaimer of warranties
The site is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, and any warranty that the site will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that the information on it is accurate, complete or current.
Some states do not allow the exclusion of certain implied warranties, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, OpenBrooks Media, LLC is not liable for losses arising from reliance on information published here or from dealings with any provider found through this site, and is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost data, or the cost of substitute services, even if advised that such damages were possible.
Our total liability for any claim relating to the site is limited to one hundred United States dollars (US$100). Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, and some states do not allow certain limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
Indemnity
You agree to indemnify OpenBrooks Media, LLC against claims, losses and reasonable legal costs arising from your breach of these terms or your misuse of the site.
Governing law and venue
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute that is not resolved informally will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Wilmington, Delaware, and both sides consent to the jurisdiction of those courts. Nothing here prevents you from bringing a matter before your state insurance department or any other regulator, or from using small claims court where it has jurisdiction.
Changes to these terms
We may revise these terms. The current version always appears on this page with the date at the top revised. Material changes take effect when posted, and continuing to use the site after that means you accept them.
General
If any provision of these terms is held unenforceable, the rest continues in force. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of it. You may not assign these terms; we may assign them to a successor in connection with a merger or sale of the business. These terms, together with the privacy policy and the affiliate disclosure, are the entire agreement between us about the site.
